Crisis helps people to work better

It has been argued, ‘people learn to work better when faced with challenges or crisis.’ Many people, countries, companies and institutions have learnt new ways to work better after undergoing and overcoming challenges or crisis in their way. Before obstacles, they seem to operate at their comfort zones.

Covid 19 Crisis awareness picture

For example, when Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, it underwent many crisis until 2015 when it overcame all after replacing Larry Page as the CEO with the current CEO, Sunder Pichai who reorganized and rebranded it to include chain of products, acquisition and partnership to offer other services apart from Google Search such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Hangouts, Google Translate, Google maps, Google podcasts, You Tube, Blogger, Google keep, Google photos, Google Chrome, just to mention a few. The Crisis Google experienced since 1998 to 2015 helped it to work better to emerge a world leading multinational technology company.

Likewise, many countries, modern towns and cities developed to their modern state after overcoming challenges and crisis in their initial stages of establishment, growth and development. Initially, they were faced by illness, insecurity, collapsing of buildings, lack of water, lack of energy power, poor transport network, among others which were overcomed by learning to prevent and treat diseases, adapting architecture in building of houses, pumping water into the cities, invention and development of roads as well as vehicles, ships and aircrafts and having a well-trained military and building their cities and towns on mountains or near river, lakes and oceans for security purposes.

Today, modern countries, cities and towns have overcomed such challenges and have advanced building technology that have seen rise of skyscrapers as well as transport networks. When faced with insecurities such as terrorism and crime, they have adopted advanced security technologies involving satellite and CCTV cameras surveillance as well as modern security machinery and equipments with well-trained security personnel and building security walls.

In History, early man started domestication of animals and growing plants due to challenges triggered by climatic and environmental challenges. When faced with insecurity from wild animals, he learned to live in caves, in groups, make weapons as well as lit fire at the entrance of their caves. Later he learned to build houses and live in settlements.

In 1918, world was faced with Spanish Flu pandemic which affected over one third of World's population and killed over fifty million people. With it, people learned many prevention measures and treatment such as isolation, wearing of masks, disinfection and hygiene as well as closure of schools and churches and banning of mass gatherings. Doctors also prescribed medicines such as Quinine, arsenic, Camphor, Digitalis, Strychnine, Mercury, Caster Oil, Iodine as well as Alcohol to treat Spanish Flu.

In 2019, World was again faced with Covid 19 pandemic and almost similar or advanced precaution measures and treatment to those of Spanish Flu had been adopted to fight it. Extra measures which includes not shaking hands, observing social distance, confining movement of people, curfews, urging people to stay at home as well as mass testing and checking body temperature as well as signs and symptoms before entering any public place.

ICU Beds to fight Covid 19

Due to challenges brought about by Covid 19 to public health as well as social-political-economic repercussions; countries, companies, institutions and people have learnt and adapted new ways to live and work better.
For example, International Organizations has come up with aids and funds to help countries for humanitarian needs.
Governments have learnt to develop their health facilities and systems as well as help vulnerable members in their community. Researchers and medics have come up with new medicines to prevent and treat diseases and people have learned to observe hygiene which helps to prevent Covid 19 as well as other illnesses.

Some people have also learned they don't really need to travel for shopping and some services as they can shop at the comfort of their houses and have goods or services delivered at their door steps.
Many companies have discovered that their workers can work at their homes and they can even advertise jobs online and conduct interviews online. Government officials and company CEOs and directors have learned to hold conferences through Zoom without spending money on travel and allowances.

Pupils and Students have also learned they can learn online or through media at the comfort of their houses and even take examinations at their homes while believers have learned they can follow mass or church service on live media at their comfort of their homes and even give tithe. Maybe the clerics might come up with a way their followers can receive Holy Communion at the comfort of their homes too.

People have also learned to be innovative in coming up with projects and inventions which can help them and community, with people who lost their source of income learning the need for a side hustle and to adopt money saving mechanisms.

People who live in diaspora and cities have learned they need that house in their shags to have somewhere to go back to after undergoing family congestion in their ancestral houses during lockdown and curfew. Men also learned they can arrive home early and have time with their families and those who take liquor learnt teetotalism  or that they can also enjoy it at their homes. And lastly couples who stayed for months without seeing each other face to face learnt that they can survive on long distance relationships.

As new normal approach, Covid 19 crisis have taught people new ways to work and live better.

The party is led by Muranga County Governor H.E Mwangi Wa Iria who is also the Council of Governors vice chairman and Presidential Candidate in 2022. CRP Headquarters Party Analysis CRP party logo 1. Name; The word 'Civic' means people's activities or duties in their local areas, towns or cities. So in choosing of the name 'Civic', philosophy is detected. 2. In 'CRP' abbreviation, still wisdom is detected. Just like it was in H.E Ruto's former party URP. 3. Party Symbol; The choice of symbol of a 'Cow' was also well advised as every Kenyan Citizen is familiar with cows. On the party symbol, I could have advised for additional symbol of coffee, tea or maize which are backbone to Kenyan Economy and later being staple food in Kenya and which the party leader has been in forefront in reviving it's farming in the County through provision of farm inputs. 4.
