Anyone wishing to contest for any elective post in any By-election or 2022 General Elections has a Political, Constitutional and Democratic Right to do so as the wish to acquire power is natural and common and men always do so when they can. For this, they need to be praised not blamed.
'Mûcokia wa Riri' or Kîrîkanîro nî thirî' hails from upper Muguru in Kahuhu. He is the incumbent and will be aiming to defend his seat for a second term.
'Mûteti na Mûtongoria Mwînyihia' was the former Kanyenya-ini Ward MCA and former Muranga County Assembly Majority Leader and will be trying to capture Kangema MP seat for the second time having lost 2017 party primaries with about 2000 votes.
'Kîoneki no Kîrathiî na Mbere' hails from Githiga Kanyenya-ini and was the former Kangema MP from 2012 to 2017. He will be trying to recapture the MP seat. It's very easy to acquire power but very hard to maintain it.
On matters of Kangema 2022 MP Race, I hold that it's too early for analysis, predictions and projections even as Political Climate continue to rise and Political clouds continue to gather. But I perceive it will be a tough race. It will be a crash of Titans which will be won or lost with only a handful of votes in the party primaries if all the apirants will be subjected to a free, fair and transparent exercise. But for the few who will choose shortcuts to avoid popular parties primaries, it will be a shortcut yes but full of obstacles.
The difference between winning and losing will be determined by many factors such as timing, perceptions and campaign strategies. But Kangema MP Race will be a mixed race of horses and donkeys sorry to say. The following might be some of the big names to expect in the ballot papers in the next one year and two months when parties will be holding primaries although some might form alignments or coalitions;
